Violência doméstica contra mulheres migrantes em foz do iguaçu: um olhar a partir das experiências das estudantes dos cursos de graduação da universidade federal da integração latino-americana (unila)

Abstract

This research refers to domestic violence against migrant women and the need to understand the reality of women in situations of violence, as this is one of the most growing types of violence in Brazil. It aims to reflect on the fact that some women find themselves on the margins of the help given by the support network for women in situations of violence, and in particular it addresses the invisibility and obstacles that migrants, undergraduate students at the Federal University of Latin American Integration (UNILA) face when they are in a situation of domestic violence. There are many migrant students at UNILA, out of a total of 3,193 students (including men and women) of which 613 are women and migrants. We chose to dedicate this research solely to physical violence since it is the main type of violence practiced against women in the home in that municipality, according to data from the Ministry of Health. The research problem is whether academic migrant women of UNILA undergraduate courses suffer domestic violence and what are the main forms of violence committed against these women? And its general objective is to: Analyze the implications of domestic violence, specifically physical violence, experienced by female migrant academics on UNILA undergraduate courses. The present study, developed using the deductive method, was carried out through bibliographic and data research. To process the material produced with the questionnaires, the Content Analysis (CA) methodology was used. Data collection was carried out through the application of semistructured questionnaires (with QR code), via institutional email and only those whose students were migrant and on an undergraduate course were selected. The need to include the nationality of the interviewee in the field's National Grievance Notification System form was proven. There is a need for campaigns in Foz do Iguaçu regarding prevention and awareness about domestic violence to reach and be accessible not only to UNILA academics, but also to the regional community that speaks Spanish or Creole languages. Furthermore, in the case of the Reference Center for Assistance to Women in Situations of Violence, it is necessary to have interpreters for Spanish and/or indigenous languages, as there is a demand for Latina migrants as we are in a triple border region. . Another aspect that is necessary is the establishment of a single care protocol for women who are victims of domestic violence.
