dc.description.resumoAs primeiras décadas do século XX são marcadas por profundas transformações no município de Umuarama, pois a cidade se tornou um dos grandes motores do desenvolvimento regional da mesorregião do Noroeste do Estado do Paraná. Logo, este trabalho tem como objetivo estudar as características que determinam o nível de desenvolvimento regional de Umuarama, no período entre 2000 e 2019. Quanto à metodologia, serão utilizados indicadores de análise regional, tais como o quociente locacional, coeficiente de especialização, coeficiente de reestruturação e análise do Shift-Share e o indicador de desenvolvimento regional, por meio da análise fatorial. O município de Umuarama possui um nível de desenvolvimento que O fez se tornar cidade metropolitana no ano de 2014. Essas características de cidade polo, serão debatidas, nesta dissertação, as análises dos indicadores de desenvolvimento regional irão demonstrar todo o dinamismo do município, o que torna uma das principais cidades do estado do Paraná para captar recursos, para os investimentos necessários para a geração de emprego e renda. Fato esse que ao longo deste trabalho será apresentado as principais teorias do desenvolvimento econômico. dc.description.abstractThe first decades of the XX century are marked by profound transformations in the municipality of Umuarama, as the municipality has become one of the great engines of regional development in the northwestern mesoregion of the state of Paraná. Therefore, this work aims to study the characteristics that determine the level of regional development of Umuarama, in the period between 2000 and 2019. As for the methodology, regional analysis indicators will be used, such as the locational quotient, specialization coefficient, coefficient of restructuring and Shift-Share analysis, and the regional development indicator, through factor analysis. The municipality of Umuarama has a level of development that made it become a metropolitan city in 2014. These characteristics of a pole city will be discussed in this dissertation, the analysis of regional development indicators will demonstrate all the dynamism of the municipality, which makes one of the main cities in the state of Paraná to raise funds for the necessary investments to generate employment and income. This fact that throughout this work will be presented the main theories of economic development.
