Resumo: | O município de Toledo, localizado no Oeste do Paraná, tem recebido imigrantes de diversas nacionalidades nos últimos anos, principalmente do Haiti e Senegal. O deslocamento populacional, muitas vezes, é responsável por transformações e desconfortos na identidade e nos sentimentos de territorialidade e pertença das pessoas que migram. Os hábitos e costumes diferenciados do local de destino costumam ser outro desafio. Assim, propôs-se a reconhecer as implicações identitárias e culturais da recente (2014-2020) migração islâmico-senegalesa em Toledo, PR. Além de revisão bibliográfica, pauta-se em observações individuais e coleta de depoimentos orais dos imigrantes senegaleses residentes no município e sujeitos envolvidos no processo de adaptação e acolhimento desta população ao local. O grupo de senegaleses que mora em Toledo é composto majoritariamente por homens entre 20 a 45 anos que vieram para o Brasil por motivo laboral e econômico. Praticantes da corrente sufista do islamismo e pertencentes às confrarias mouride e tidjane, indicaram o idioma, a comida, o clima e a saudade que sentem de casa como maiores dificuldades experimentadas. |
Abstract: | Toledo is a city situated in the West of the State of Paraná, Brazil. Recently, Toledo has received immigrants from different nationalities, especially from Haiti and Senegal. Often, population displacement is responsible for changes and issues related to the personal identity and feeling of territoriality and belonging of the immigrant. Moreover, the different tradition and habits of the destination place are usually another challenge. In this study, it was proposed the analysis the identity and cultural implications of the recent (2014-2020) Islamic-Senegalese migration in Toledo, PR. Besides the theoretical reference, the study is based on individual observations and collection of oral testimonies from Senegalese immigrants living in the city, as well as from people involved in the process of adapting and welcoming immigrants to Toledo, PR. The group of Senegalese living in the city is mostly composed of men between 20 and 45 years old who came to Brazil for labor and economic reasons. Immigrants practitioners of the Sufi currents of Islam and associated to the Mourid and Tidjane confraternities indicated the language, the food, the climate and homesickness as the greatest difficulties experienced. |
