Abstract: This dissertation aims to investigate how the integration between Rural Education and the ethical principles of permaculture, caring for the Earth, Caring for People, and Sharing Surpluses, can contribute to the construction of a pedagogical project focused on the formation of the ecological subject. The research starts from the premise that the rural school, by valuing traditional knowledge, community life, and the relationship with the territory, constitutes a privileged space for the development of critical, contextualized, and transformative educational practices. Among the specific objectives, the following stand out: identifying the environmental content present in Brazilian public schools; conceptualizing the terms "place" and "rural situation" in light of environmental literature; discussing the theoretical and practical challenges of socio-environmental education within the scope of Rural Education; The research, with a qualitative and exploratory approach, is based on a literature review and a study of projects carried out in school institutions where the results were satisfactory. Thus, the analysis of educational experiences revealed that permaculture, when incorporated into the school curriculum as an ethical and methodological foundation, expands the possibilities for holistic education, promoting autonomy, belonging, and ecological awareness among students. As a result of the study, it is concluded that the articulation between Rural Education and permaculture offers a viable and promising path for the formation of the ecological subject, a critical individual rooted in their territory and committed to environmental regeneration and social transformation. The proposal presented contributes to the strengthening of sustainable pedagogical practices, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and reaffirms the role of the rural school as a space of resistance, innovation, and emancipation.

Abstract: The significant increase in waste production and the need for integrated and conscious management raise questions that must necessarily begin at academic centers. As professional educators, higher education institutions in Paraná need to implement measures to address the issue of waste generation and disposal in accordance with existing legal provisions. The objective of this study is to investigate the issues of chemical waste management produced in the chemistry laboratories of Paraná's universities, focusing on a comparative analysis between in-house and outsourced waste management. The research aims to identify the main challenges, costs, benefits, and risks associated with each management model, considering current environmental legislation, the specificities of waste generated in the academic context, and the institutions' infrastructure and human resources capabilities. Through a methodological approach that combines literature review, document analysis, and technical opinions from universities, the dissertation aims to provide support for strategic decision-making regarding the most efficient, safe, and sustainable way to manage university chemical waste in the state of Paraná. The analysis considered aspects such as the complexity of the legislation, the variety of waste generated, operational costs, the technical expertise required, the risks of accidents and contamination, and the potential for implementing minimization and treatment practices. As a result of this research, a guidance booklet was created on the legislation and sanctions applicable to Higher Education Institutions.

Abstract: This paper seeks to reinforce the debate on how Ecopsychology can provide support for the mental health care of pregnant and postpartum women, emphasizing the importance of integrating Psychology, Health and Environmental Sciences in research on sexual and reproductive rights. It suggests that the clinical resources proposed by Ecopsychology be integrated with those already existing in conventional Psychology in the prevention of psychological distress among women during the perinatal period, since it emphasizes the importance of reconnecting the individual with the environment that surrounds them. For pregnant and postpartum women, this approach proposes strategies capable of transforming the way they relate to the environment around them, based on a process of self-knowledge and understanding of the world that surrounds them. The objective of this study was to conduct an in-depth analysis of women’s responses to the demands of life during pregnancy and the postpartum period, as well as the interpretations they construct about their desires, capabilities, ambitions, ideas and emotions in relation to the environment that surrounds them. In the 21st century, one of the main challenges is to promote equity in access to mental health, encouraging the recognition of this issue as an essential aspect of the human condition. In view of the socio-environmental crisis that the global community is experiencing, it is essential to invest in research that inspires the adoption of new social habits, with a view to stimulating personal and collective transformation. In this scenario, the contemporary lifestyle proves to be an adverse factor, contributing to the increase in chronic diseases — physical and mental — directly related to environmental degradation. This study is based on the principles of the quantitative descriptive and qualitative exploratory approaches, with the objective of observing, quantifying, describing and interpreting the information provided by pregnant and postpartum women. The research was conducted in four municipalities belonging to the Corbélia District — Anahy, Braganey, Corbélia and Iguatu — with the participation of 68 women. Of these, 66.2% were pregnant and 33.8% had recently given birth. Although the average age of the participants was 29 years, two groups composed of seven women presented different age ranges: one with an average of 26 years and the other with an average of 34 years, in the year 2024. For the qualitative analysis, three pregnant women and three postpartum women from the municipality of Iguatu-PR were selected. Data collection occurred through the application of three questionnaires, carried out in the format of individual interviews. The analysis used the descriptive-analytical method, allowing the identification of interconnections between categories and objectives, highlighting the relevance of each dimension in understanding the socio-environmental profile and in assessing satisfaction with the quality of life of these women. In general, participants reported experiencing perinatality in good socio-environmental conditions, especially with regard to guidance, protection, safety and comfort. However, they expressed dissatisfaction with their quality of life and well-being in the context of pregnancy and the postpartum period.

Abstract: Water is an essential resource for sustaining life and economic development. However, the inadequate use of water resources, exacerbated by human activities, population growth, and reduced rainfall, has compromised surface water supplies. This scenario has increased pressure on groundwater use, especially through artesian wells. Therefore, this study's main objective was to conduct a documentary survey on water availability in the municipality of Cascavel, in the state of Paraná, analyzing the influence of human activities and climate conditions on local water resources. Cascavel is the fifth most populous municipality in the state and, between 2013 and 2023, registered a population increase of approximately 111,000 inhabitants. In 2019, the municipality had the highest number of groundwater use permits issued in the analyzed period, totaling an annual flow of 235,875.19 m³. The main economic activities responsible for these concessions were: residential (27.9%), commercial (26.9%), and agricultural (26.1%). Furthermore, there was a period of three consecutive years with precipitation levels below the historical average (1800–2000 mm): in 2019 (1444.4 mm), 2020 (1149.2 mm), and 2021 (1260.8 mm). In 2016 and 2017, practically 100% of the available treated water was consumed by the population. To meet the growing demand for water supply, Sanepar is investing in studies and projects for the construction of new water treatment plants in the future. As part of the analysis, a SWOT/FOFA matrix was used to identify the strengths, opportunities, weaknesses, and threats related to Cascavel's water resources. The objective is to support public planning and propose more efficient management strategies for the sustainable use of water resources. Furthermore, the method adopted in this work may be replicable in other cities to verify water availability.
