Abstract: Teaching programming remains a major challenge, particularly in helping students understand&#xD;
introductory concepts and stay motivated. Codeverse: Hacking Worlds, an educational digital&#xD;
RPG developed in this work and based on the Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy, is designed to teach&#xD;
introductory programming content and provide an alternative way to reinforce foundational&#xD;
programmingconcepts.Theresearchwascarriedoutinseveralstages,includingaliteraturereview,&#xD;
a focus group with teachers to gather requirements, the creation of the Game Design Document,&#xD;
game development, the construction of a didactic sequence, and classroom implementation&#xD;
with students in the Technical High School in Informatics program. Data collection and&#xD;
analysis involved triangulation of pre- and post-tests, observations recorded in a logbook, and a&#xD;
questionnaire, providing an integrated view of learning, usability, and engagement. The results&#xD;
show learning gains with a normalized Hake gain of 0.40, along with evidence of increased&#xD;
autonomy, logical reasoning, and student engagement in the proposed activities. The findings&#xD;
indicate that educational digital games based on learning theories or taxonomies, such as Bloom’s&#xD;
Taxonomy, can enhance teaching and learning experiences in Computer Science. The evidence&#xD;
supports the conclusion that Codeverse has effectively integrated the cognitive, affective, and&#xD;
procedural dimensions of learning, making it a playful and accessible pedagogical resource.

Abstract: The growing demand for connectivity in Internet of Things applications has driven research into&#xD;
devices with long-range and low powerconsumption,suchasLoRatechnologyandtheLoRaWAN&#xD;
protocol, which organizes network communication. Despite advancements, physical obstacles and&#xD;
infrastructure limitations still compromise coverage and communication reliability in challenging&#xD;
scenarios. In this context, the TS011 LoRaWAN Relay specification and the implementation of a&#xD;
repeater using the LoRa Basics Modem library present an alternative to expand network coverage,&#xD;
reduce communication failures, and enable the operation of end devices with lower transmission&#xD;
power. However, there is still a lack of experimental evaluations with firmware adhering to this&#xD;
specification in the literature. Therefore, the objective of this work is to experimentally evaluate&#xD;
the operation of a LoRaWAN repeater developed with the LoRa Basics Modem library, as well&#xD;
as to analyze the relationship between reliability and energy consumption. In the first experiment,&#xD;
the operation of the repeater with the standard LoRa Basics Modem firmware was evaluated,&#xD;
based on six experimental arrangements and different operating conditions. The results showed&#xD;
that the repeater extended the network range and improved the message delivery rate in areas&#xD;
where the gateway’s range was limited or nonexistent. In low-coverage scenarios, the repeater&#xD;
proved indispensable to the network architecture, although its dynamic activation required the&#xD;
end devices to be restarted to adapt to the new topology. In the second experiment, an energy&#xD;
consumption assessment was performed to verify whether adopting higher fixed spreading&#xD;
factors could be considered a viable compromise in the face of increased reliability. The results&#xD;
show that increasing the spreading factor increases communication reliability and also energy&#xD;
consumption during transmission. However, this increase does not significantly impact total&#xD;
energy consumption, as the greatest energy cost is in the continuous operation of the device over&#xD;
time. In the third experiment, a spreading factor supervisor mechanism was incorporated into&#xD;
the LoRa Basics Modem firmware, designed to operate with higher fixed values and prioritize&#xD;
communication reliability. Compared to standard firmware, the supervisory mechanism increased&#xD;
message delivery by 92.8 percentage points, in addition to reducing the end device’s power&#xD;
consumption by eliminating the need to keep adaptive data rate mode active.

Abstract: The increasing urbanization and the expansion of industrial and agro-industrial activities have&#xD;
intensified problems related to odor emissions and air quality degradation. The monitoring and&#xD;
identification of these pollutants remain challenging due to the cost of reference equipment and&#xD;
the limited availability of technologies for environmental regulation and control. In this context,&#xD;
this work presents the development and evaluation of an electronic system for odor monitoring and&#xD;
identification. The proposed system consists of a low-cost sensor array, including electrochemical&#xD;
sensors and a Photo Ionization Detector (PID), capable of detecting relevant odorant gases such&#xD;
as hydrogen sulfide (H2S), ammonia (NH3), sulfur dioxide (SO2), methanethiol (CH3SH), and&#xD;
volatile organic compounds (VOC). The device integrates an embedded system responsible&#xD;
for data acquisition, preprocessing, and storage, as well as remote data transmission using the&#xD;
LoRaWANprotocol. The experimental methodology included laboratory tests to evaluate the&#xD;
influence of temperature and humidity on sensor response, odor sample tests for odor profile&#xD;
analysis, experiments with known concentrations of H2S, and field campaigns in different&#xD;
scenarios, including composting environments, urban areas, and a dairy cattle barn. Additionally,&#xD;
the influence of the sampling regime (active and passive flow) was evaluated, highlighting the&#xD;
impact of the air intake system on sensor response dynamics. The results demonstrated that the&#xD;
system is capable of indicatively distinguishing odor profiles. The application of machine learning&#xD;
techniques, such as Kernel PCA and Random Forest, enabled pattern recognition, reinforcing&#xD;
the multivariate analysis approach typical of electronic noses. As an additional contribution,&#xD;
representative datasets of different odor emission scenarios were generated, including an urban&#xD;
dataset in the city of Toledo and an agricultural dataset in a dairy cattle environment. The results&#xD;
indicate that systems based on low-cost sensors, integrated with machine learning techniques&#xD;
and IoT infrastructure, represent a promising alternative for environmental monitoring and odor&#xD;
identification, particularly in distributed applications within the context of smart cities.

Abstract: The adoption of the Digital Diploma in Brazil has created a context in which issuance and&#xD;
registration systems must comply with particularly rigorous quality standards. However, there&#xD;
is a lack of a systematized and structured definition of non-functional requirements (NFRs) for&#xD;
this domain, which hinders consistent specification and compromises well-founded architectural&#xD;
decision-making. This work addresses this gap by proposing a systematized catalog of NFRs&#xD;
for the Digital Diploma domain, motivated by the need to guide the development of more&#xD;
robust solutions aligned with regulatory requirements. The objective of this research was to&#xD;
design, model, and validate a catalog based on the NFR Framework, represented through Softgoal&#xD;
Interdependency Graphs(SIGs).Themethodologycombinedlegislativeanalysis,anobservational&#xD;
study of a real-world system, a Systematic Literature Review, application of the ATAM method,&#xD;
SIG modeling, expert validation through a survey, and a Proof of Concept to assess practical&#xD;
applicability. The results indicate that the catalog is comprehensive, technically consistent, and&#xD;
considered useful by specialists, while also demonstrating applicability in real-world scenarios.&#xD;
The proposed operationalizations showed potential to support architectural decision-making&#xD;
and inspire functionalities in other systems. Thus, this work delivers an updated and applicable&#xD;
artifact that contributes to the development of more secure and interoperable Digital Diploma&#xD;
systems.
